Using TCA peels to treat corns and calluses

Corns and Calluses can be bothersome and sometimes uncomfortable but TCA peels are an easy low cost solution to remove them.Corns and calluses are thickenings of the skin or hyperkeratosis that form in areas of pressure. Corns and calluses occur on parts of the feet and sometimes the fingers. Common locations for corns are on the sole over the metatarsal arch or the ball of the foot and on the outside of the small toe where it rubs against footwear. Corns can be painful to walk on, even when they are small.

Often times corns and calluses on the feet can be prevented by wearing comfortable well fitting shoes. The shoe should not press against the outside of the small toe, or press the 4th and 5th toes together. Another method of preventing corns are cushioned insoles. Keeping yourself properly hydrated to avoid dry skin problmes also lessens the chances of developing corns.

If you already have corns and calluses though TCA peels are one of the best ways to get rid of them. The common method of getting rid of corns and calluses is to soak your feet in warm water for 15 minutes and then use a pumice stone to remove the softened dead skin. This usually takes quite some time to remove your corns and areas with a lot of dead skin. Tca peels shed the hardened old skin in just a few days and many times corns and calluses can be removed with just a few treatments.

Treating wrinkles with Injectable HA

Dermal fillers such as injectable hyaluronic acid fillers rejuvenate the wrinkling face with a goal of restoring a more youthful look. They are used to fill lines and wrinkles, such as those found near the nose and mouth (nasolabial and marionette lines). They are injected at varying depths into the skin and soft tissues.

Treatment

Injections

The area where you will receive the injection must first be thoroughly cleaned. Make-up must be removed and alcohol pads are used to clean the area before treatment. Pain management is handled in a number of ways including applying ice to the area or utilizing a topical anesthetic cream such as our Super Numb lidocaine creams.

Once your treatment area is numbed, your doctor will make injections in multiple locations, placing the dermal filler where correction or volume enhancement is desired. Your doctor may massage or manipulate the area where the filler has been placed The treated area may be cleansed again You may be given ice or cold packs to place on the treated area to minimize swelling and bruising

The entire treatment process may take 20 to 30 minutes or more

Aftercare

Your enhancement will be visible immediately after your injections. However, due to swelling, you may look a little fuller than you might expect. This will improve rapidly over the next few days.

You may experience mild swelling or bruising from any type of injection. Ice or cold packs can help to minimize swelling or discomfort

You can generally apply make-up over the treated area immediately

Hyaluronic acid fillers may result in 3 to 7 days of swelling, redness and post-injection bruising.

Results

The improvement from hyaluronic acid type dermal fillers can be variable since the concentration of hyaluronic acid in each product differs. Results with Restylane, Juvederm, and Perlane typically last between 6-12 months while the results with Prevelle Silk may be slightly less

Studies have shown that the improvement with some HA fillers can be enhanced if you get treated again between 6-9 months after your first treatment. Restylane has shown longevity to 18 months with re-treatment.

If you do not repeat treatment once your results have begun to diminish, or as directed by your doctor, your appearance will return to its pre-treatment state.

Commonly injected sites

The approved indications for the hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are all identical: For injection into the mid to deep dermis for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as the nasolabial folds). Nasolabial folds are creases that develop from the nose to the outside corners of the mouth.

HA fillers are often used to enhance the lips and to add volume and shape to the midface, the jawline and chin. These fillers can also be used to improve hollows and depressions below the lower eyelid, often called the tear trough. Although less common, dermal fillers can provide temporary correction to a pinched or asymmetric nasal tip, or fill depressions at the nasal bridge.

Using TCA peels on your skin

Many people are looking for younger and smoother skin and are using TCA peels to get it. There are numerous options that you can use to make this happen to the extent of being difficult to decide which one to use. One of the frequently used products include chemical peels such as the TCA peels. TCA stands for trichloroacetic acid that basically burns away the extra layers of skin that you want to get rid of. They correct skin discolouration and pigment problems. A TCA peel also makes your skin smooth by eliminating surface wrinkles and removing surface blemishes. They can be used on the face, neck and other parts of the body depending on the patients needs.

The application is done by brushing the acid on your skin and leaving it there for two to fifteen minutes depending on the advice given to you by a skin professional. You should at first expect a stinging sensation but this shouldn’t be any reason to worry since it will subside quickly. The depth that the peel occurs depends on the amount of time that the acid is left on the skin and the strength of the solution. The longer the TCA peel stays on the skin the deeper it penetrates. It is advisable that before any treatment on your skin using a chemical peel the skin should be prepared using Alpha Hydroxyl Acid creams or Retin-A. This two are meant to remove surface dry skin ensuring that the peel penetrates into the underlying skin. It is also essential that once you have applied the TCA peel you apply sun block daily on your skin to protect it since it will be more sensitive.

To achieve the results that you desire you may have to repeat the application of the peel several times. Applying touch-up peels once or twice a year is also necessary for those who want to keep the full effect. The most suitable patients to use this type of chemical peel are the ones who have slightly darker complexions. However, it still lies within the mandate of your skin specialist to discuss with you and determine the most favourable peel that you can use. Always remember that with any peel there are expected side effects. They include redness, irritation, discomfort and swelling. It is therefore very prudent of you to follow carefully the instructions given to you by the professionals. The days that follow your TCA peel application your skin will more likely to appear crusty and have a leather-like look. This is normal since it precedes the coming off of the dead skin leaving your skin younger and smoother.

What Is Kojic Acid?

Kojic acid based skin lightening products have been used for many years in Asia for their skin whitening qualities. Many cultures outside of Western cultures consider fair women the definition of beauty so skin lightening products are very popular in many parts of the world. Kojic acid is a natural ingredient derived from a mushroom in 1989. Not only is it a tyronsinase inhibitor it also helps to exfoliate the skin.

Kojic acid is also consumed widely in the Japanese diet, with the belief that it is of benefit to health. Indeed, it has been shown to significantly enhance neutrophil phagocytosis and lymphocyte proliferation stimulated by phytohemagglutinin.

In a comparison study, 2% hydroquinone, 10% glycolic acid, and 2% kojic acid decreased hyperpigmentation in patients with melasma better than the same combination without kojic acid.

Because of its exfoliating properties Kojic acid can be a bit irritating to sensitive skin and cause dryness but this is also part of the process of lightening your pigmented areas. Extra moisturizers such as our hyaluronic acid can be helpful when using products that contain Kojic acid.

Skin treatments using chemical peels

TCA peels are commonly used for light peels since the acid concentration level is a medium strength. This makes it very effective against wrinkles, freckles, pigmentation changes, surface blemishes and acne. Often, about four to five TCA chemical peels are required for the desired results to be achieved. TCA peels only affect the upper layer of the skin known as the epidermis, whereas the deeper peels which are more concentrated affect the dermis which underlies the epidermis. The main purpose of using a chemical peel is to eliminate wrinkly and old skin together
with the pigmented and sun damaged parts. This will then lead to the generation of a newer and fresher skin layer. The peel also reduces the fine lines found underneath the eyes and also surrounding the mouth. A peel will also efficiently improve how a shallow scar appears together with treating acne scars.

Phenol acid is the strongest of all the chemical peels and is used to treat medium deep wrinkles together with changes in pigmentation. Patients who have a huge tendency of form excessive scar tissues and other irregular scar formation are not eligible candidates to use this form of peel. No sedation is required for the chemical peel; however, a local anaesthetic is applied during the deep chemical peel so that it numbs the face. Patients may feel pain after this peel that may last several days. The face will also swell especially during the first two days followed by itching during the peeling and healing durations. There is also a certain risk of complication that may arise. This includes the temporary discolouration of the area treated.

TCA peel application normally takes around twenty minutes to completion. Normally the patient is expected to apply pre peel skin care product on their skin two weeks before the treatment. The cream contains the active agents that help in preparing the skin and at the same time ensuring that its ability to produce new skin cells afterward is improved. Once the skin has been cleansed to remove the oil the peeling agent is then carefully applied. What follows is a warm sensation that will feel like sunburn. This will only last for a few minutes and will be relieved after the post peel mask is applied. The result is a smoother, fresher skin where blemishes and imperfections have been reduced significantly.

Mequinol – A Skin Lightening Wonder

Before the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) required the recall of hydroquinone-based products, it is the most common skin lightening ingredient. In the quest for new skin lightening products, people are turning their heads on mequinol. Little is known about mequinol but it is equally effective like hydroquinone. The FDA has also approved the combination of tretinoin and mequinol in treating various skin conditions like solar lentigines or what we commonly refer to as liver spots or age spots. Other skin conditions that mequinol and tretinoin combination may treat are acne scars, melasma and hyperpigmentation.

Mequinol works in as short as four weeks in treating the skin condition. It was proven through a study published in Skin and Allergy News that mequinol is very effective in treating post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This condition is usually caused by various distresses to the skin like injury, becoming inflamed in the process. Mequinol is not also skin type dependent. This means that mequinol can be used by all people even Asians, Hispanics and African Americans.

The America Chemistry Council tested mequinol and they proved that the use of mequinol is non-threatening. FDA, however, ruled out that the combination of mequinol and tretinoin is pregnant C plus which means that pregnant women should stay away from using products that contain the combination of mequinol and tretinoin. Other medical practitioners claim that you have to take birth control pills if you are going to use lotions or creams that contain these substances.

Like other skin care creams, mequinol may cause slight side effects like reddening, burning, peeling, stinging and itching. Excessive use of mequinol can also irritate the skin. You have to be extra careful of the drying effect of mequinol. Supplement the use of mequinol with an effective moisturizer to address such an effect. Of course, you must avoid sun exposure as much as possible.

Shea Butter and Skin Lightening

Shea butter is found in the nuts of the Shea-Karite tree, which grows in Africa. A main benefit of shea butter is that it moisturizes and hydrates the skin. This is why you can find shea butter in some skin lightening products. Shea butter has fatty acids which retain the moisture in skin and it helps reduce stretch marks in women’s bodies. For those with acne, shea butter helps eliminate acne scars and other scars that come as the result of different skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis. For best benefits in using shea butter as a skin lightening treatment, you should purchase it in its’ pure and unrefined form at a health foods store.

Before you apply the shea butter to your face for skin lightening benefits you want to first wash your face to eliminate dirt and oils from your face. Then pat your face dry and apply the shea butter all over your face, and let the butter stay on your face for eight hours before rinsing it off. In addition to having fatty acids that moisturize the skin, shea butter provides protection from the sun, evens out uneven skin tones, provides relief from irritation after shaving and reduces the signs of aging. Finally, shea butter contains important skin lightening vitamins such as vitamin E, vitamin A and vitamin D.

If you’re interested in learning more about shea butter’s role in skin lightening, you should talk with your dermatologist and ask how this ingredient works to lighten your skin. Another way to research shea butter’s skin lightening benefits is to read some dermatology journal and beauty magazine articles that pertain to this topic. When reading the articles it’s good to take notes so when you get a shea butter-based skin lightening product, you’ll know what to look for. Also talk to relatives and friends who used shea butter for skin lightening purposes and ask them which products they would recommend. You can also read some blogs from everyday people who use shea butter and read which skin lightening products they recommend to readers.

Besides the local health foods store, you’ll also find shea butter-based skin lightening products at the drugstore, online beauty retailers and occasionally the supermarket. When shopping for shea butter-based skin lightening products online, it’s important to realize that some online retailers that claim to offer pure shea butter products don’t always do so.

Types of Cosmetic Chemical Peels

Today several different types of chemical peels are available, each having a quality that makes it unique to the rest. Some of these include:

Alpha hydroxy acid chemical peels – these acids are normally sourced from naturally occurring acids that exist in sugarcane juice, sour milk and tomato juice. The alpha hydroxy acids include such acids as carboxylic acids like glycolic acid and lactic acids. It is one of the mildest chemical peel solutions and it is often used in the treatment of fine wrinkles, areas of dryness on the skin and uneven pigmentation as well as acne. Chemical peel solutions containing these acids are normally mixed normal facial cream and washing solutions as part of the daily treatments. Often, these chemical peels rely on five fruits acids, which have a myriad of qualities and benefits to the skin. These are: glycolic acid, citric acid, malic acid, lactic acid, and tartaric acid. When used in combination, these acids deliver the expected results in a short time. For instance, while Glycolic acid creates the exfoliation action, lactic acid removes dead skin cells and malic acid opens up the skin pores. As such, together, these acids create the perfect remedy for a variety of skin conditions.

Trichloroacetic acid chemical peels – TCA is an acronym that stands for trichloroacetic acid, which is a key component of the TCA peels. TCA peels are normally manufactured in different strengths ranging from 20% to 50%. The depth of penetration that is offered by a particular TCA peel solution usually varies; going deeper as the concentration of the chemical peel solution increases. However, a concentration level in these TCA peels that exceeds 35% is not recommended since this can very easily lead to scarring instead of treating the skin. The TCA peels are normally preferred by darker skin people and at times require preparation before use. In addition, repeat treatments are usually necessary to maintain the result over a ling period of time. Furthermore, patients are usually required to apply sunscreen on their bodies for several months as the treatment sets in. The process of healing after the use of these chemical peel solutions normally varies depending on the depth of the treatment.

Retinoic acid peel – this is a type of retinoid that is normally deeper than most treatments. The retinoic acid peel is commonly used in spa treatments and plastic surgery to remove scars and take care of wrinkles as well as pigmentation problems. Often, the process is undertaken together with the Jessner’s peel to prepare the skin for the process. The patient leaves the facility with the treatment on their face since peeling begins on the 3rd day.

How To Bleach Skin

The easiest way to bleach and lighten your skin is by using a professional skin lightening product to whiten your skin. Permanent or Non Permanent

Some skin bleaching agents permanently bleach the skin while others only provide temporary lightening. Monobenzone is the strongest permanent skin lightener we carry.

Skin Bleaching compounds

There are many different types of skin bleaching compounds on the market today such as mequinol, kojic acid, arbutin, and tranexamic acid.

You can increase the effectiveness of your skin bleaching products by pretreating the skin you wish to lighten for 1-4 weeks beforehand to clean and unclog the pores. This will allow the bleaching solution better penetration of your skin and thus better results.

Proper Application

You should always follow the application directions for your product for maximum effectiveness and to lessen the risk of any unwanted side effects.

Aftercare

Proper aftercare can make a world of difference to how well your skin bleaching creams will work.
